Psalm 110, written by David, is a Psalm that speaks of the coming Messiah, Jesus Christ. In fact, Jesus quotes this Psalm in Mark 12:36 in order to prove that he is the Messiah. For David himself, speaking under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, said, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, Sit in the place of honor at my right hand until I humble your enemies beneath your feet.’ (Mark 12:36 / Ps 110:1) Through Psalm 110, David was clearly announcing the coming Messiah. Jesus Christ was coming to redeem the world. Jesus Christ was coming to specifically redeem you and me so that we could be saved from a life of sin and through the Lord, be victorious over all those things that try to trip us up. It is the Lord’s plans and purposes that will prevail over every stronghold in your life that threatens to strangle the life right out of you. He will be victorious! “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain. Holy, Holy is He. Sing a new song to him who sits on Heaven’s mercy seat. Holy, Holy Holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!”
